Santa Claws

Izzy turned 2 on Wednesday!  Guess that means she's a teenager in dog years.  We got her a new toy at Petsmart :-)  Surprisingly she hasn't shredded it yet.

I went back to Petsmart today to have her picture made with "Santa Claws."  She was such a little nervous Nellie, but she was so cute! We surprised Andrew with her new pic today for a fun little Christmas happy.

My parents took us to the Chris Tomlin "Glory in the Highest" Christmas Tour on Thursday night and it was nothing short of AMAZING.  The concert was held at Pinelake, and when the tickets went on sale they sold out FAST, so the tour kindly offered to do ANOTHER concert on Friday night and those tickets sold out, too!  Christie Nockels performed with Chris Tomlin, and Louie Giglio gave a short but incredible message in the middle, "The 12 Words of Christmas."  It seems to be a yearly thing that they are doing, so if you ever have the chance to go - DO!  It will put you in such a Christ-centered Christmas mood.  Highly recommended!

Now looking forward to picking out a Christmas tree tomorrow, helping mom decorate around the house, and then Carols by Candlelight :-) All fun little Christmas happenings!

Tonight is the "Claus Ball" for UMC students, so we'll be getting dolled up and heading to the MS Museum of Art.

Merry Christmas!!!

Office/Study Room

Kelly's touring home offices this week!

I posted this room not too long ago as one of my re-do rooms.  It's a guest bedroom and office.  We've called it lots of different names...the study, the office, the back room, and "the library" (we think that sounds the fanciest).

I love this desk - it was my homework desk growing up.  Unfortunately all these years later I am STILL doing homework at it :-(  but Andrew also uses it to pay bills and do his "stuff" there, too.  I'm sure you've spotted the skull already...that's Harry.  Andrew thinks it'd be cool to have in our dental office one day.  Next to Harry is an autographed picture of Eli Manning and some sort of famous baseball players that I'm of course supposed to know who they are.  There's also a bride and groom Mickey and Minnie from our honeymoon up there.

We did have a little futon thing in here before, but wanted to put a real bed in when we got the house ready to sell.  Ironically it made the room a lot bigger.  Izzy's little bed doesn't belong there, and I'm really not sure how it got there for this picture, but whatev, it's cute!  Of course it bugs me there's no headboard, but this was only temporary.  I also LOVE my Walter Anderson "A" print that Peter and Darcy got me for Christmas one year!!

Hope you like my office/study/back room/library...whatever the room is!

Curtain Success

Andrew and I successfully hung 2 sets of curtains Sunday night. "Successfully" in the most liberal sense...as in, they are still on the wall. The first one we hung up is completely ghetto. The curtains themselves are perfect, the rod and the placement on the wall, not so much. We have never laughed so hard in our lives! We vowed to go get a new rod and brackets and try again. We totally redeemed ourselves on the second set of curtains, though. Perfection. They totally change the look of the master bedroom. It has been fun to begin making Andrew's house into "our" house.

We had an awesome lazy weekend in Oxford. I wish I had all kinds of things to tell you that we did, but all we did was watch movies and hang out at our friend Jeffrey's pool. And I loved every minute of it! Speaking of the pool...Izzy had her first dip in the pool, and boy is she a fast swimmer - she's a natural!!

Baby Izzy & Baby Jude

Here are the results: It's a BOY!

Jude Harrison Taylor was born just before midnight last night, weighing in at 7 lbs, 14 oz.
Mom and the sweet little baby boy are doing great! The whole clan was there, and everyone is so excited he's finally here! He was well worth the wait.

Baby Jude is pretty stinkin' cute, but I have to remind y'all just how cute our Baby Izzy is...

Here she is as "Sporty Spice":
Here she is as fast as lightning...so fast, you can't even see her!
Here she is checking out what the Easter Bunny brought her:
[Disclaimer: Andrew and I had no part in this Easter basket...purely my mother. Lucy had one, too, of course.]
and with her new shirt on, "I eat bulldogs." It's cute, admit it :-)
She loved plastic eggs. They are seriously her new favorite toy. How cute is she?

Puppy Love

Guess what my Valentine's day present was?? a sweet little puppy, named Izzy! She is a solid black miniature rat terrier. Izzy loves to: sleep, snuggle, give lots of kisses, eat until she gets a pot-belly, eat clovers or any type of green leaf, and then she likes to sleep and snuggle some more! So far, she's been a quick learner and everyday more and more of her sweet (with a tad bit of spunky) personality comes out. She's 10 weeks old now and weighs a little less than a pound (we think?).

Wedding Updates:

BRIDESMAIDS DRESS
I have finally picked out the bridesmaids dresses! check! It's a dress by Watters, and the color is "slate" luminescent taffeta. It is gorgeous and flattering, which is always a good thing. Although the color isn't the direction I originally planned on going, I LOVE it! It picks up some blues, some browns, and will go with anything (although that description probably doesn't sound very pretty, ha).

REGISTRY
We are beginning the process of registering and picking out china and all that fun stuff. So far, Andrew and I have registered at The Everyday Gourmet and Bed Bath and Beyond. We've yet to pick our fine china, but at least we've got our everyday china picked out and in love with it - Juliska's Berry and Thread. Also planning on registering at Belk, Oxford Floral, and anywhere that carries our yet-to-be-picked fine china.
